About

The aim of the SME E-COMPASS project is to develop two “software-as-a-service” web applications that provide European SMEs active in e-commerce with the technological tools for strengthening their sustainability, increase their customers’ trust in secure card not present transaction (CNP), position their e-shops in competitive environments, and expand over new cross-border markets in Europe. The consortium designs, develops and validates in SME business environments two real-time proficient applications that fosters online security and promotes e-sales.

The consortium comprises from twelve (12) partners from four (4) EU member countries (Germany, Greece, Spain and United Kingdom). The driving forces behind the project are the four SME-AGs. The SME-AGs provide direct access of the project’s applications to the end-users, namely SMEs that are active in e-commerce. The selected SME-AGs are associations specialized in e-commerce, e-tourism and in retail commercial sectors disposing hundreds of SMEs as members, dispersed in large geographical regions in their countries. For the demonstration activities, three e-commerce SMEs have been selected to participate in the consortium. Their main role will be to participate in the first round of pilot trials, thus being the first SMEs to experience, validate and provide feedback on the real-time applications. The consortium is complemented by a strong and multi-disciplinary group of RTD performers well balanced between applied research organisations and e-commerce, web-security and IT business experts.
